Recording Your Partners SMS messages

No matter how careful a cheating spouse is about deleting incriminating content from their cell phone it is still one of the most common ways of a partner discovering an affair or indiscretion.

The cheating spouse will often use SMS messages to communicate with a third party as it affords them a way to quietly communicate without arousing suspicion even when their partner is close by.

Most modern cell phones and PDA’s   keep detailed logs of the content of messages sent and received and also the phone numbers the messages are sent and received from.

Message content is usually stored indefinitely in the inbox, outbox, sent items and draft folders in even the most basic models of cell phone until the user deletes them permanently.

The sender and recipient numbers are also stored in the call log file of the cell phone.

Usually, a conscientious user will be careful to delete messages as they are received but will often neglect to, or forget to delete sent items and to delete numbers from the call log list.

If you find that these logs and folders are permanently empty it is a good sign that the cell phone user has something to hide.

Even deleted messages and numbers can be recovered later using a SIM card recovery tool. A cell phone SIM card acts in much the same way as the hard drive on a computer in that even deleted data leaves a permanent ‘scar’ which makes it possible to recover information long after it has been deleted.

You may also notice that the cell phone seems to be permanently on silent mode when you are around so as not to alert you to an unusual level of incoming SMS messages.

If you notice any of these you have a number of options. You can simply wait until the user becomes complacent, as most of them eventually do, and forgets to delete the message content or you can install a simple piece of software which will allow you receive a copy of all messages sent and received from your partners phone, to your own personal cell phone.

This allows you a greater opportunity to monitor their cell phone activity as you only need to get hold of their cell phone once for a couple of minutes in order to install the software.

It also has the added benefit of allowing you to keep a copy of all messages for later use when it comes to confronting your partner or gathering evidence for legal proceedings.
